REBECCA GODWIN

I am a new PhD Student in Education at Johns Hopkins University. My research broadly focuses on the professionalization of teaching, with specific interests in the unique development of professional status in the field of education and the barriers which exist within our own school systems for high performing high school students in choosing education as a college major.

MY LATEST RESEARCH INVOLVEMENTS

I'm starting on a new project with Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) this month. I'm so excited to begin investigating the experiences of high performing high school students in our school systems! What barriers are our school systems creating for these students in choosing an education major?

We'll soon be submitting our XQ Super School Proposal in the Talent Development Secondary Design Group here at CSOS at Hopkins. Our innovative idea? Let's just say we've devised a plan to tie high school education to REAL improvements here in Baltimore.
